Wheel net straps cut by shock strut, Help?

After just four trips dolly towing (4k miles) I noticed that the straps have been rubbed through on the edge that rides against the strut at the top of the wheel. It looks like a 1/2 frayed cut. I will replace them, but was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and how to solve.

Solved.
Nylon Sling Protector Sleeve (2" Slings) from Amazon will go over the new straps.
