Do we really need to go down this road?
My truck has been fully bulletproofed. Head studs, gaskets, full delete, oil cooler upgrades, coolant filter, etc. The truck is an 07 so it doesn't have the issues of the earlier 6.0 but much of that was replaced when bulletproofed as well.
Truck currently has 150k and runs like a top. Properly maintained, it'll run to 500k plus.
Drove several POS Chevy, Dodge, and Ford's when I was shopping for this one last year. The key is maintenance and research to know what you're getting into. I chose a low mileage two owner truck (previous owner knew the original owner). Truck has never been ran hard.

I also pull a Cedar Creek Hathaway with my 2018 3/4 ton Duramax. I am not entirely sure but I think you may be trying to blow a little smoke. Well we all needed chuckle.

Boy, seems many of these folks really take this topic personal!
Don't think many of you would make it as a truck salesman!

I for one get tired of the bashing.
Every truck out there has a weak point. They're not perfect.. just like people.

Another Ford owner reply. I get about 11-12 pulling a 14k fifth wheel.
However....... I will say the mileage unloaded can really be bad (around 14) when it keeps going into regen which is often when running unloaded. I have a 2013 GMC 2500 at work and it gets about 21 on a trip (my Ford gets about the same except when in regen) and I never see it go into regen.

My only requirement for a truck that I purchase is....that it gets the job done that I bought it for. Don't care what make.

Well, he did say 4x4.
4WD- Low is the wrong answer. Too much torque. Too easy to break loose and spin. It's like driving on snow or ice; start in second gear for reduced torque so it's not as easy to break traction.

I like the "Tow/TV/Max" threads .. we are new to camping and looking forward to getting away. Our first few years will be around Fl/Ga. We got a 2019 Ram 1500 and one of the bigger Rockwood Lite's. Wife will retire in about 2-3 years and if we really enjoy camping I can see us upgrading to a 2500/3500 and taking longer and farther away trips and I think the Rockwood will always be big enough, it is 36' and sleeps 6. Picked it up last Thursday and the trip home was 30mph winds with a few bumps but it pulled straight stopped great. I have to say that I am really happy with the comfort level of the 5ver and the performance of the new Ram.

You forgot it can back up and park without the use of mirrors or cameras!

My Ram 2500 6.7l Cummins
I’ve only got a couple of reasons I purchased my 2500 Ram, I liked it, I wanted it, it does a great job and I’m happy.

Truthfully the extra 10grand on a used truck was the big excuse.

I have the only truck here capable of pulling it out.

I get asked the same question all the time. My answer is always the same. Because it is my truck and that’s what I like.
