Windjammer 3008w

Hi I just ordered a new 2017 gmc 2500 HD duramax diesel Denali. Planning to haul my 3008w from Cobourg Ontario to Port Aransas next Nov 2017. Any comments on how this rig will tow and any precautions. The gross trailer weight rating is 8900 lbs. I should be no more than 8200 lbs loaded.

Cheers Rick

you have a diesel and worried about 9k pounds? the only thing id be worried about is a flat tire or the price of gas. Safe travels. Those Denali hd's are sharp.

I pull my 3008w with an 04 Ram 5.7 Hemi with no issues at all. I don't think you need to worry about your new TV at all.

Thanks all for the info. Also since it's going to take us 3 days to get there. I was wondering if anyone has used flying J stations as rest points. I see they have rv overnight parking.

Thanks, I intend to replace the factory tires with an upgraded ones to match within the rims max pressure. Any suggestions on tires?

Welcome to the forum, btw. I'm from Bowmanville. One of our DS's is in 2nd year at Trent U and my Dad lives there, too, so we visit Peterborough regularly.

I put a set of Maxxis M8008 tires on my Rockwood last year. Carlisle are good, too. If you are going up one load rating, be sure to replace the spare.
