Check engine light on XCR ISL9

Here I am stuck in Amarillo, TX at a RV Park with an Check Engine with Code :
SPN 1239, FMI 16, SA 0
Haven't found the exact code online yet but still looking. It appears the Freightliner Help Desk has the FLU, no one there and goes to an inactive voice mail. No one will answer at my normal dealer in Tulsa either. So I'm trying to find mode info, Like can I ignore it (:
Seems to run OK and came on while sitting in line at the fuel station.
Checked every where on engine that I can get to, but found nothing visible.
Just don't want it to fail on the interstate and have to be towed.

Got an appointment with Freightliner to see what they can find. Ends up there only 2 mile from the camp ground. Who knew.
Did get in touch with Freightliner help desk. They checked and found two many issues listed under the error codes. Recommended someone take a peak under the hood to make sure all looks good.

if the 'engine' light alert is not blinking, or is not red, then it's most likely this is simply an 'alert' that something could be amiss, but not necessarily anything to have to immediately stop for - have it checked at your next scheduled appointment or when you can find somewhere in the meantime, but don't change your plans simply due to this information.
Many times these lights are a 'one time' code alert, and will go off on their own after some time...

In every instance when mine has shown up, it was due to DEF, most likely being too 'low' at a single moment in time. The light would go off, on it's own, after several ignition starts and travel days.

Went to Freightliner at 0900, The one in Amarillo. The checkin person had me park close by and came out with his PC to check for errors. He found the same info I had that there was either a problem with the fuel delivery or a problem with the "Throttle by wire" wiring. They brought in another tech. to run a test with a new pc from Cummings. Found the if was a fuel issue, but they said it should make it home OK. They reset the error and off I went to Tulsa, They did not charge me a penny!! Cant beat that.
About 200 miles out the Check Engine light came back on. But made it home without any issues. Now I will have to get an appointment to have it fixed.

SPN 1239 is "Engine Fuel Leakage 1 Data Valid But Above
Normal Operating Range - Moderately Severe
Level"

The Failure Mode Indicator (FMI) will be 16.

The Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL), commonly known as the Check Engine Light, will be Amber and Solidly on. (Less severe than Red or Blinking).

This is a Cummins code and applies to the following models:
2013 ISX15
2013 ISX12
2013 ISL9
2013 ISB6.7
Maybe more. The document I am looking at could be stale. I suggest you put a copy on your phone or print a copy.

Normally I would say drive with an Amber-Solid code, but I don't like the idea of leaking fuel, even Diesel. Why not run the engine and look around for the leak. It might be a connection you could tighten yourself or have a Diesel technician repair.

One of the most common causes for the engine light to come on is a not properly tightened fuel fill cap. It will stay on for several engine starts even though the cap has been properly tightened.

Yes, but do you think that would set a code for Fuel Leakage?

"If the fuel tank and EVAP system fail to hold pressure during the test, it indicates a leak. A large leaks such as that caused by a loose or missing gas cap will set either a code P0455 (large leak) or a code P0457 (loose gas cap)."

This is relevant to gas engines, there may be a different code for Cummins diesel.

If your normal guy isn't open to look at it last time I drove by Green Country RV DR was still open, but that was before Stitt's order went into effect tonight. Might give them a call @ 918704eight329. They seem to stay pretty busy.

Hmm... I think it would be better to take an engine problem to an motor mechanic than an RV shop.

Thanks a lot guys, I just got the RV unloaded from our trip and will be calling Freightliner or Cummins to see when they can look at the issue.
Looks like most of our trips the year are not going to get done....Bummer

I have the same coach. I have found that if I am getting low on oil check engine comes on. A quart or two of oil and the message goes away.

Got it all done, took a little over a week and had to take out almost everything that you can take off Inside, Back and bottom of RV.
Cost of $5,490.03 (parts $2,148.53) (labor $3341.50)
Who Knew I still had a month on my factory 5yr warranty left>>>only cost me the $100.00 deductible.
Still have not had it on the road to make sure it’s fixed and nothing else broken, but did spend a week camping in it in my barn and all works fine.
