287 North Dallas to Amarillo Tx Gas?

Hello,

Planning a future route that takes us out of Dallas Tx about 8pm local time with destination of Amarillo, Tx. I think Amarillo is beyond my reach on one tank of gas fill up in Dallas towing a HW 277 with a 2014 Nissan Titan V8.

Witchita Falls Tx is 2 hours out but it would be 10 pm or later by the time we got there and not sure how early they roll up the sidewalks on 287N between Dallas and Amarillo.

Any route info appreciated or info on how to for external jerry can storage on the HW 277 or the Titan. Don't want to store gas internally on either.

Thanks.

There is a Flying J Travel Center in Wichita Falls that is open 24/7 (at the intersection of Hwy. 287 and Jacksboro Highway, otherwise known as US 281). Plus Hwy. 287 is pretty much main route across North Texas so I feel sure there will be other opportunities for you to gas up between Dallas and Amarillo.

Another hour-and-a-half past Wichita Falls is Childress which has a Pilot Travel Center so you're going to be fine.

You should not have a problem with fuel on that trip. It is a major trucking route with plenty of 24 hour fuel.
