Best Route from Central IL to Navarre, FL

Anyone out there taken this trip? I have several times but never towing my TT... I typically take 55 to 24 to 65 and then 331 thru AL and that last leg (331) would be a beast with a 33 ft TT behind me and isn't exactly littered with fuel stops.
I'm looking for the "easiest" route as I'm kinda new to hauling my TT. Looking for truck stops for easy fueling and Wal-Marts (whatever) to spend an overnite rest. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

You may want to stay on 65s a little longer till you get down to 41. 41 will take you right into navarre.

^^X2 on h20ski's directions Just remember, the trailer will follow you everywhere. I've been into some tight 4 pump stations with a 42' 5th wheel that barely clears the canopy. Take it slow, look & plan ahead, then commit, you'll be a pro in no time at all!

Thanks guys!!!

Already had one mishap... On my last gas up coming home last fall, tired, wasn't paying attention, cut it too close to a pump and CRUNCH right into the concrete filled steel pylon.... 1700 in damages. I need to practice my backin up also. Ugh. But I'll get it!! I'm hooked now!!!
Thanks again for the advice on both !

Do you have GPS? I have many trips from southern Indiana to Gulf Shores, Pensacola and a couple to Navarre and Destin. Different routes, all exiting I-65 along the way. My advice is to seek out Pilot/Flying J for fueling. Download their app of you have a smart phone. Lucky you!

Where are you going in Navarre, I'm there now at Emerald Beach RV. We are from the Chicago suburbs. We have been down in Florida for 2 months heading home. Loves truck stops are also good they have an app for locations and prices. We are making one more stop in Biloxi MS them home. The wife likes the casinos. When we come down we take 55 to Jackson MS then 49 to 10. Then 10 to the Fl panhandle after stopping in Biloxi. Have a good trip.

That's where we are going! We've been to the area (mostly 30a area) many times. This will be a first for us. Taking the TT. How's the campground? How's the "beach" there? Thanks for the trip tips (I already have the Loves app) and that is the route we are planning exactly.

I take that back... We're taking 65 down. Sorry, misread your post.

Just got here today. The beach is nice, the campground is clean and well kept. We are on beach site 69 very nice. The only problem is the weather. It's cold down in the 30's tonight high only in the 50's tomorrow. Leaving Tuesday for Biloxi.

Thanks Iggy.
That's what I use as well.
Now I've got also two apps (pilot and loves) on my iPhone that show all the "truck stops" along the way.
I usually take the 55,24,65 route down to 331 then straight in. But 331 would be tough with a TT so I'm stayin on 65 and taking a short route on the two lanes over.
Thanks

Route idea

I travel btw Carbondale IL to ATL GA frequently (live in Carrollton GA now). Pulling a load I would do I57, I24, to I65 and cut over to GA after getting into AL. B'ham AL to ATL GA on I20 west is a no go. Speed limit is mostly 55 with lots of traffic on I20. The only reason I suggest not going to I24 is to avoid Mont Eagle and Chatt TN. If the 40 minutes fighting the "hill" (and traffic) does not borther you then I would absolutlely go I57, I24, to GA 27 south. Briley parkway as you come into Nashville (Opry land, camping world, bass pro shop) takes you back to 24 on the eastside avoiding the city mixmaster (a must detour to take). Coming into Chatt on I24 27 north exits first and a few exits before 27. Great four lane divided hyway (27) with great views and parks Chickamunga (sp), Rome, etc. 27 will connect to I85 in Lagrange allowing you to feed over to I75 (either 285 east or GA 16 (two lane) or stay on 27 to see Calloway Gardens to Columbus GA (also scope Rosevelt state park and the little white house close to Calloway).

good travels....
