On my vacation to the east coast this summer ill traveling i74 to i70. What is the best way to get through Indy. I see there are a couple of by passes around the city which is the best one to use that will get me to i70. I'll be pulling a wildwood 28dbud
If you are coming 74 from Cincinnati just take the 465 by-pass around the south side to 70 on the west side. That will be the way 74 goes thru Indianapolis anyway.

Sorry I should have specified I'll be ready bound coming in from davenport. Would the same hold true. Looks like I'll come into Indianapolis dead center. So should I take 465 around the north or south side of the city. Which side is the best area to get through
Ok. Your coming in 74 from the west--just take 465 south. Maybe 5 mile then 70 east. 70 east goes right thru downtown. Most generally that's the way to go. Unless 8 am or 4pm.
Can stay on 465 and go around the south side and back to 70 on the east side. Around the north side can be crazy about anytime of the day.
+1 on 70 through downtown. I have pulled my trailers through there, rode motorcycle, and even drove a semi that way. Best way across. 465 isn't any easier to navigate and adds 10-15 minutes.

I would stay off I-70 through downtown Indy. It will beat you to death!! Came through there last summer and shook about everything loose inside the MH. Any of the bypasses are fine as long as it's not during rush hours. Been through north and south sides many times without issue.
