Go to the Superior and Chippewa National Forest web sites and they have all the info on their campgrounds, most of which are fairly to completely primitive. Other good boondocking sites are in the MN State Forest campgrounds that are not heavily used. Both state and federal forests allow dispersed camping (not in campgrounds) with rules for distance from road, setback from water, no tree cutting to make a site, etc. These rules are on their web sites too. Loads of places to go. Watch for RV length limits.
