Caltrops/spikes found on I-20 near Dallas

Just a FYI, for the members in case they find themselves near Dallas and run into one of these.

I like how the story was tied to politics right out of the gate. Couldn't just be about spikes in the road.

My reading comprehension must be fading. I didn't not see any political reference in the article. Was just about spikes in the road from what I read. And war elephants.

Ok let's not get this thread sidetracked with politics. This needs to be the last post on that subject. I'm sure he was talking about the name of the highway the article referred to of I-20 thru Dallas, which really had no use in the article, especially since the spikes are 100 miles away

When you go to the Facebook page for that counties sheriff's dept, they have pics of these spikes. There is a link in the Yahoo article to it

Since this is supposedly happening 100 miles east of Dallas, that makes it closer to me. I also have to wonder if it's on both west and east bound lanes, or just one. That would make it more obvious if they are trying to keep us Louisiana people out, or keep Texans in. Lol

Anyhow, just want our members to be aware in case they are in the vicinity.

Mike, you are supposed to be one of us. Don't let out the industry trade secrets.[emoji1].

Seriously though, when I was reading the comments on the sheriffs dept public Facebook page, there were several who shared your theory.

These were found near Lindale, TX, not far from where I live. I will be driving through there Saturday morning. WMtire I hope I don't need to stop by your shop for a new tire!

I do too, cause I'm probably not going to be here this Saturday.

No problem. I will even leave a checking account deposit slip if you want to put some money in my bank.

There's a huge auto recycling facility north of where I live and a metal recycle facility south of Seattle. There are always trucks traveling down the freeway with everything from flattened cars to dump trailers loaded with "shredded metal". Every once in a while one of them spreads sharp objects along a mile or two of freeway which results in a dozen or so cars sitting on the shoulder with flattened tires.

Without fail someone comments that "it's the tire dealers".

Every once in a while we see on the evening news where a contractor has lost a box or two of nails off the back of his truck and that creates a lot of upset people as well.

Isn't it funny / sad how anytime something happens these days, which cause average citizens to seek out tire dealers / auto repair facilities, etc. it is almost immediately blamed on those shops themselves, to drum up business. Is there no more honesty in this country?

At least with this case, it's really obvious that they aren't just scraps falling from a semi hauling scrap metal. The picture shows an obvious creation of someone, to serve the purpose of shredding a tire, or causing an accident.

Very sad.
