We don't have many "truck stops" in the UP but diesel is everywhere. Don't worry "come on up".

I have an RV lot that I own in Cedarville, MI, UP, and while the UP is rural, there are lots of places to buy diesel. It will be more expensive then Texas. Hope you enjoy it there we sure do, you can't beat the summer time weather when compared to SE Texas. Good Luck and Happy Trails

Michigamme Shores Campground is a very nice campground. Google them. West of Marquette on highway 28/41. We have stayed there a few times. You will probably want to make reservations

The U.P. has plenty of diesel available at stations as mentioned. lots to do and see up here. The Porcupine Mountains are a great area, the Soo Lock in the Eastern U.P. along with Mackinac Island and the Keweenaw Pennisula has a lot to offer too. If you end up in the Keweenaw send me a private message. I live here and can make some local suggestions and recomendations.

In the U.P., don't pass up the Pictured Rocks National Shoreline. It was rated as one of top ten things to see in the country, I think by Time.
Munising is where you get the boat tours along the shore to see the natural artwork. The beaches around there have lots of beautiful colored rocks too.

Love Muskallonge Lake State Park. Very pretty with lots of lake view sites. You can cross the street to Lake Superior and look for agates. Nice to visit both Pictured Rocks and Tahquamenon Falls.
There's a nice camp store near there (Deer Park). I believe they also rent boats. Nice fishing lake near there, too, called Perch Lake.
And if you go into the great metropolis of Newberry, check out the ribs at Timber Charlie's.
I haven't camped there, but Marquette is an awesome UP town. Check out the UP museum. Lots todo (it's a college town).
Hope you have an awesome trip in my adopted state.
Try michigan.org for other ideas.

tahquamenon falls state park

Wife and I went to the UP a few years ago and we really enjoyed Tahquamenon Falls state park.

The only downside was we didn't have the TT at the time and were staying in a tent. The marsh hawks, aka Mosquitos, can be pretty bad depending on when you go.

Ft Wilkins, Copper Harbor

My local favorite in the Keweenaw is Ft Wilkins state park. It's an old mining fort restored from 1860's. It's at Copper Harbor the tip the Keweenaw Penisula at the end of US 41. If you go up that way, fuel up before Calumet. I worked up that way for years driving a truck and diesel is scarce and pricey.
If your coming up to the Copper Country, PM me. I did route sales in the 4 county area and know quite a few places to check out.

We stayed at the Newberry KOA on our way from Ontario back to Saskatchewan as we wanted to visit Oswald's Bear Ranch (well worth the drive). And there are plenty of fuel stations with diesel around there as well.
