First camp trip

Sue and I drove our new Grey Wolf last weekend for our shake-down cruise. Unfortunately we arrived at Rock Creek Lake after dark. First problem: had to fill the fresh-water tank. Guess what? The water ran all out onto the ground. Too dark to look around for solution. We had bottled. Let's just get it parked. We had reserved a pull-through for our first time. Even so, it was difficult in the dark. Lots of help--the camp hosts were friends and had undertaken to mentor us. Managed to get lined up and uncoupled. We thought we had the electricity going, but noticed the microwave was lacking its clock. Turns out the plug outside needed a bit of adjustment. Forgot to turn on the propane and the night was really cold. In the daylight, I managed to get the heat on and found that the water hose was not attached to the fill spout. Got it reclamped and filled the water tank. The RV is at a little bit of a slant so we are going to relevel it (probably in the rain) this weekend. We are also going to learn the ins and outs of the water heater this weekend before we hitch'er back up and take'er home. BTW, we are bringing the 3 Yorkies with us this weekend. Pray for us!!

Most of us have had the same type of experience. Before long you will be a pro and I still request pull-thrus, even after all these years. Good Luck and Happy trails

On our 6th RV. Everyone of them is different. When you think you know it all, you then trade and start out in the dark all over again.

But if you can't figure it out, the forums will turn you into an expert!

Isn't that the truth.

To the OP, think of it as an initiation. The good thing is that most of the "mistakes" you made, you will never make again so it gets them out of the way forever.

As long as you don't lose your sense of humor, it's a lot of fun.

Well, that's mostly true. But for some of us "senior citizen" types, we do make the same mistakes over again; we just don't remember making them the first time!!
