I want to stay here on one of their beach-front sites (even though it doesn't have sewer):
Destin, Florida's CAMP GULF RV Park & Campground

They have other sites that DO have sewer, though.

We spent some time last winter in Big Lagoon state park, just west of Pensacola. Elect and water, dumpstation. Close to everything, on the intercoastal, great seafood abound.

Stayed at Gulf State Park back in September.....nice stay, big park, many sites, full service....large lake and many of the sites back up to the lake....you get access and pass to the beach and pavilion which is just across the main strip from the park....no more than 1/4 to 1/2 mile from camp sites....watch out for the alligators....just kidding, never saw them but they are there.

I am interested in purchasing the 23dbh here in Missouri. Are you happy with this model? (Thanks)

For Gulf Shores State Park (great place to stay). Make all of your plans NOW and make reservations as soon as it is possible. If fills up fast for prime weeks.

I was told by an attendant at Gulf State Park that you can use a portable fire pit as longs as it's 18" off the ground.....didn't have one at the time so don't know if that would be challenged or not....they have now made some tent sites with fire pits constructed at the sites.....Hopefully will be back there with grandkids during Spring Break 2015.

If you like crowds, then Gulf State Park is your place. If you don't mind driving 20 miles to Gulf Shores, then this is your place, Coastal Haven RV Park. Super nice, 5 miles away from Fairhope.
Easy drive to Gulf Shores, do everything there and get out of the traffic. Here's a couple pics of our trip last August at Coastal Haven.

We stayed at the Gulf Shores KOA this past May. Sites pretty level. Dog park. Nice pool. Clean and friendly. Plan on staying there again. It has its own beach but not a very good one. 20 to thirty mins to Gulf Shore beaches and about an hour to Pensacola beach.

There is a wallyworld real close that sell the portable fire pits. I would think that they sell a lot of them because of the State Park rules. The portable fire pit was cheap and when we were ready to go I took it back a part and stuffed it back in the original box and put it in the truck.

We also love Gulf State Park. We have been at least 6-7 times and have enjoyed each and every trip. The beach is NOT in the park, but that also helps to keep all the sand out of the RV. It is easy to access with bikes or a car. We have also stayed at Island Retreat and it was good, not great.

We usually plan a trip to Gulf SP every other year.
