Need recommendation for campground near Dallas, TX for the state fair

I am going to the Texas state fair in October and need a campground recommendation near Dallas. It doesn't have to be right at the state fair area, but not too far away would be nice. I have never been to Texas and figure the state fair is a great way to get a taste of Texas. I also plan to look around the Dallas and Fort Worth areas while I am there. Recommendations for what to do and see in the area and at the fair would be appreciated as well.

I don't have any recommendations for camp grounds in that area.

A good place to get some texas flair is the Fort Worth stockyards

The state fair is a lot of fun, unfortunately the area that it is in, and the surrounding area, are not the best place to be when visiting the DFW area. There may be an RV park or KOA type place in the area but I would not know. Now, there is a Texas State Park not too far away from there, Cedar Hill State Park, it is close enough to be convienet to Dallas but far enough away to get away from the city.
Good luck!

We were going to stay at the Dallas Hi Ho park when Ervin was going thru treatments. People there were so nice, but our friends asked us to stay at their house instead. We did stay at the state park near Grand Prairie when we went to the State Fair. Have fun.

That is a nice place! Only CG on Grapevine lake. Used to be a Corps park years ago then a private company took it over. Kind of expensive but is very nice.

Easy enough to get to Fair Park from there as well, just get on 114 in Grapevine and that will take you right downtown.
