Oklahoma Roads

Are absolutely HORRIBLE.

We drove from DFW to Missouri, going up we took I-35 and I-44. If you have to go through Oklahoma I would only take the interstate. They have recently redone a section of 35 in north OKC and if you like bull riding you'll love it. Major construction before Tulsa was a hassle and going through Tulsa on 44 was a mistake. Take the turnpike around the bottom of Tulsa.

When we came back we started to take 69 in Big Cabin and only made it about 10 miles, I thought the trailer would come apart. There are expansion joints which are actually little dips and it was a washboard. We turned in Adair and got back on 44.

I wish 49 came all the way down to Texarkana. Next time we go we are going through Kansas.

Since the "War of Northern Aggression" (1861-1865) Oklahoma has been proactive in making its roads as inhospitable as possible for invading armies. Most of our lakes are too shallow for naval operations as well. "Save Your Dixie Cups, The South Shall Rise Again" is our motto....

When I went to Goshen, I found the road smoother from the Red River to Adair than I did that horrible stretch on US 75 through Sherman, Texas!

That is because of all the extra traffic going to the Choctaw Casino.
