Palo Duro Canyon

Has anyone ever maneuvered a 40-footer into and out of Palo Duro Canyon State Park in Texas? Seems like there might e a couple of tight turns that would be concerning. Any advice? Words of encouragement? Warnings?

Well I hope your 40 footer fits cause we are taking our 44 footer in there in early June.

I don't think you guys will have any problems. We took our 34 footer there easily, and saw plenty of larger rigs in there. Just don't go into the parking lot at the gift shop. It is tight.

I went to college in Canyon and have always loved Palo Duro.

I can appreciate your concern but I think you'll be fine by exercising caution. You might call the park and speak to a ranger about it before you go.

We've been there in our 40' towing and had zero issues..... Serious downward grade going into CG which obviously means a climb coming out.... Well worth the effort...

Don't miss the "Texas" play there!!!! Fantastic!!!!!

Been there twice, once @35' once @40' spring 2018 no problems. Spring, winter fall are good. Summer is HOT...even for Texans!

Been there twice, love it. Hike the Lighthouse trail and the Rock Garden trail.
Can't wait till we are able to go again.

Banda we are ready. Being we live in the Houston area we know all about the Texas Heat!!
I follow palo duro on Facebook and they posted some photos the other day of temp up to 135 degrees on the floor of the canyon. Yikes[emoji15]
We will be smart and start hikes early and carry plenty of water. We are there for 4 nights then on to Durango where its dry and fires are burning ☹️. The 416 fire started just 3 miles north of our campground that we are staying at but the fire is heading north. Hopefully they can get it under control before we arrive. Really want to ride the train but as of now they have it closed till at least Sunday ☹️. Thanks

Palo duro was a piece of cake on navigating with the 43 foot fifth wheel. We had a great time. On to the next stop.
