please recommend a nice campground near the Omaha Zoo

We are contemplating a trip to Omaha to visit friends and take the kids to the zoo. Please recommend some nice campgrounds within a short drive of the Zoo.

thanks in advance.

I don't know if it is still the case, but I was near Omaha in early August, and the area was heavily flooded. Hopefully it has eased or is no longer a problem.

Haworth park in Bellevue is still closed because of the flooding as are all of the close parks...
I would suggest Walnut Creek (Papillion NE) for near by. Louisville SRA (Louisville,NE), Two Rivers SRA, Mahoney SRA (Gretna). Mahoney has lots of activities for families. If it is warm, Louisville is nice for fishing, swimming. Walnut creek has nice walking and bike paths and good fishing around the lake but no showers.

Wow...Louisville is quite a drive from the zoo. If you're retired military, you might want to give Offutt Famcamp a try. Otherwise, I'm not sure what else is around there.

Looks like our friends are near Gretna, so thinking the Two Rivers SRA. There is also a KOA near there, but not so sure we would like the KOA...

I'm not sure that the Offutt Famcamp allows campfires. Having a campfire is part of my family's camping tradition
Its been a tough season here in the midwest with all of the flooding.

The Website for Offutt AFB FamCamp has the following message posted: The Offutt AFB FamCamp is CLOSED until further notice. The campground is currently flooded.
