Recommendations - Huntsville, AL

We are looking for a nice park in Huntsville, Alabama for a two or three night stay. I have family living there and am having some minor issues finding a nice RV park for our stay.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions on where to stay.

When we visited Huntsville, we camped with our motorhome at Monte Sano State Park. It was nice. Not the park’s fault, but it was extremely hot and humid at the time.

Just stayed there about a month ago. If you are into hiking at all plan a couple extra days. Great trails there, and close by.

Do not come in from the north, use the road from the south believe it is Governors to Monte Sano SE

Monte Sano State Park is stunning.

Sharon Johnston Park in Meridianville is nice enough. It's a county park.

The Space Center RV Park is decent but nice because it's right in the heart of Huntsville. We haven't stayed, just driven through.

Huntsville places to camp

If you can get on Redstone Arsenal there is a really good campground there. But the space and rocket center also has a good campground.

Is the Redstone Arsenal open to non-military people.? When I tried using RV Trip Wizard to get information from the website, I get a Page Not Found error.

Redstone arsenal is for military and others but has to be part of the Govt dod and such. Best is the one at the space center for being in close with out the drive up the Mtn to that park.

We stayed 5 nights at the Marshall Spaceflight Visitor's Center RV park a couple years ago. It's a small park with IIRC about 25-30 spots. It was nice enough, but nothing fancy. Rates were about $25 per night from what I remember. I would definitely stay there again if in the Huntsville area. I don't remember anything to complain about... good electric, good water. Full hookup sites.

A few miles south there is a nice CG just north of Guntersville Lake, AL.
Honeycomb is one of our favorites.

Thanks all. I ended up making reservations at Monte Sano. It is close to where my family lives.
