Souteast Louisiana Campgrounds

Hey guys. I live in southwest Mississippi and was wanting some advice on some good places to camp in southeast Louisiana. I have July 4th and Labor day already booked at two different state parks here in southwest MS but was wanting to try somewhere different for a weekend or a week in between the two holidays. Thanks in advance for the great advice.

Hi Blake,

I've stayed at the parks below.

Tickfaw Sate Park. Springfield, LA. This is our favorite.

Lakeside RV Resort, Livingston, LA. .

Cajun Palms, Henderson/Cecilia, LA.

There is a new State Park openning this summer, Bogue Chitto State Park
in Franklinton, LA.

Haven't stayed at Bayou Segnette State Park, but have heard good reviews from others.

Thanks for the help. Do any of the state parks have full hookups? All of them in louisiana that I have looked online only show water and electric with no sewer hook up. They all have dump stations so its not to big of a deal. Just wondering about that because im only about an hour from the tickfaw state park and would like to visit. I am booked for lake lincoln state park on the 4th and percy quin on labor day (wish i could have got percy quin for both but lake lincoln will do Ha) and both of them have full hookups. Just a question but not a deal breaker if they don't. Thanks

Fontainebleu State Park in Mandeville is nice. It's on Lake Pontchartain. The campsites are not, but the park is. The Tammany Trace, a bicycle trail runs through it.

Blake,

The only park I know of with sewer hook-ups is the new one opening this summer, Bogue Chitto State Park.

We have camped at Percy Quen quite a few times. Well be there Thanksgiving Weekend.
Also Flint Creek near Wiggins. Flint Creek has a few full hook-up sites.

The St Bernard State park is also a good place in Louisiana for good camping. It has also water and electric hookup facilities.
It is located right along the Mississippi River; the park provides a peaceful, natural setting for relaxation. The park's nature trail is the perfect way to introduce children to the joy of discovery in nature. Picnic tables, barbecue grills, restrooms, and a large, covered pavilion complete with a grill are ideal for a family outing.

[FONT=&quot]The swimming pool and bathhouse will delight youngsters and their families all summer long. Visitors may also launch their boats one-tenth of a mile from the park's entrance in the Caernarvon waterway and experience some great fresh and salt water fishing.

Thanks, Kathy. I have lived in and around New Orleans for over 40 years and never knew about St Bernard State Park.
Bayou Segnette on the West Bank has a fantastic park, well restored after Katrina as well.

Sam Houston St Park in SW La has some full hook ups. Poverty Pt. in NE La has full hook ups. I've stayed in both.
neither of these will fit ur bill for SE LA.
