Travel Recommendations routes/places of interest

Want to travel from East Texas to Gettysburg with fifth wheel. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Stay off I 20 as much as possible in Shreveport area. If you do come thru here, take I220 east around town. Still somewhat rough but not nearly as bad as going straight thru. Also traffic is one lane at Tx state line in both directions. Enjoy your trip.

Thanks. Usually take 79 from Carthage to Shreveport I-20.

Have not decided on route most likely to Birmingham then up to Tennessee via I75, then I81 to PA

Be advised that I-59 through Birmingham is shut down until 2020 for bridge demo and rebuild. I 459 is also a nightmare due to traffic being diverted from I-59.
