TX to MI in June

We are heading from Dallas/Fort Worth to Marshall, MI this June to visit family.

We are going to hit the road and stay night in Effingham, IL and drive into Marshall, MI the following day. Where we have booked reservations at the Cornwell Turkey Farm.

We have driven this route more times then I can count, but this will be the first with the 5er.

On the way home we are heading to Branson, MO for a couple days, staying at a park close to Branson Landing.

Wow, that looks like about a 14-hour Drive the first day.

Yea, we did the same thing when we went to FL. Leave put around midnight and drive through until that evening. With our age and the age of our kiddos is about the best way to do long distance. Before the trailer we always drove straight through, alternating every 5 hours or so.

Wow, 800 mile day.

400 is my limit, I'd break that up into a few days.

So the trip has begun. Left dfw around 8pm Friday and arrived in effingham at camp lakewood rv park. The drive was horrible with construction in multiple areas and lots of rain.

Camp lakewood has been great. Sitesee are fairly level, have full hook ups with lots of shade trees. Park is clean with friendlyrics employees that have been more then accommodating. Getting ready to head out to turkeyville in marshall, mi

Day 3 is coming to a close. We arrived in marshall, MI at camp turkeyville. Good weather, ran into some wind today and horrible road conditions. Indiana by far has been the worst. Will post pictures later of today's camp ground

Well our time in Michigan hastate came to an end. We left cornwell turkey farm today. If anyone is lookingoing for a good place to camp or a stay over I highly recommend this. Sites are clean, fairly level with great amenities. Small stock pond and of course great food and homemade ice cream. Sorry forgot to take pictures

I will also be making the trip from Texas to MI on May 29th. Grandson graduating from high school on May 28 at SHSU in Huntsville. We have an RV lot on lake Huron in Cedarvill, MI and because I retired this past September 1st, I will be able to stay for a few months. So good to get away from SE Texas summer weather. Have a great trip and we stayed at that RV park in Branson.
