Where to Camp in Northern Illinois

Anyone have some suggestions on great places to camp and State Parks in Northern Illinois? My wife and I are planning out our summer. We live in southeast Wisconsin and have camped in our travel trailer all over Wisconsin and we're looking for other places to go. Thought we'd go down and bug the Bear fans down south!

Thanks!

Starved Rock State Park is a great place to camp, I hope to be there Memorial Day weekend. Lots of outdoors thing to do like hiking.

Lowden State Park is great.

Depending on how far South and West you want to go I can suggest a few others.

Shabbona state park is nice.
Paul Wolff kane county forest preserve is nice with huge sites.
Morrison Rockwood state park is nice.
All depends on what you're looking to do??
Starved rock and state parks it's best to get your reservations in, they fill up fast.
Wisconsin state parks are much nicer so you may be a little disappointed.
Illinois state parks are under funded and under staffed.

ROCK CUT

Starved Rock would be my first choice. Go to Trip Advisor for pictures and reviews on this park.

We liked Rock Cut. There are some really nice camp sites in the 300 number series.

Platokid is correct. Illinois parks are underfunded and may be a little disappointing. We live in Illinois but have done more camping in Missouri.
