Woolly Hollow St Park Arkansas

Doing overnite stop here outside of Greenbrier, AR then heading to Mountainview for 3 or so days. Decided not to set much up here. Super nice park. Clean and very large campsites. Beautiful fall colors. Some sites on the lake.

Pickles Gap Road is about 300 yards north of me. If you noticed Ozark Country Store, I live behind there.

We stayed at Woolly Hollow for the first time the week of July 4th at site #5. Had a great stay. Great 1950ish feel to the park. Definitely going again next summer.
We made 3 trips to Petit Jean for a week each time last summer. It is our favorite of all our trips. We exit at Morrilton and come in on the East side of the mountain. I'm only doing 15-20mph by the time I reach the top of that 6% grade.

Yeah!! And that way, you go through Toad Suck! (Which also has a nice COE park on the river)

60 out of Conway then 10 thru Perry. Right onto 324. 324 almost looks like driveway but is actually pretty wide. Takes you right to 155. Stop at that intersection for a super view.

Hshaynes,
Sorry, I did not mean to de-rail your post. One more question though. Am I assuming 155 does not have the steep grade like the one coming from Opello? Is that correct? Since we come from Fort Smith, we've been using the Morrilton I40 exit to avoid going thru Russelleville and that traffic and coming up the steep grades on the West approach to the park. Looking at a map, looks like I could do your route suggestion by just taking the road from Morrilton to Perry and West to 324 to 155. Or, take Russellville Hwy 7 to 10 and East to 155.
So far, we do the Sun to Fri trips but we are thinking of combining Petit Jean and Wooley Hollow for a two week trip next Summer. Thanks again for info.

Seabourn, the grade is steep but the curves and lane width is better than going up thru Morrilton. I am pulling with f250 6.2

Seabourn, also at Woolly Hollow site 9 is long and seems to be more level than most. It is also on the lake.

I thought almost all of the 3 thru 13 at WH were nice. #5 was level and we had plenty of room for truck and TT. I noticed #1 was level except where your truck sets. I watched those people leave and they had trouble getting hitched up due to truck being on slope. #14 was a pull thru but not level. I think to maneuver into it, you would be best backing in from the high side.

The roads to WH were easy going too which I liked.

If you are ever in our neighborhood of NW Ar, you might like Devil's Den which is similar to WH but w/o lake. Also, Lake Ft Smith which was rebuilt about 10. It has very nice lake however there is about a 100 foot strip of wooded area between campsites and water so you don't have a lake view during Summer. Both are State Parks with full hookups.

I meant to say the Lake Fort Smith campground had been rebuilt about 10 years ago

Seabourn, we may be headed your way this Tues afternoon. We want to go back to the Fish Cove, I think. Used to frequent it for the crab legs. Since we are reasonably close we are seriously considering the drive.
