He's correct about the fan speed. On auto, it will adjust the Dan speed according to his dad from the set point the room temp is. Mine does the same. Confusing until you download the manual for the thermostat and read it.
In the south and in Montana in the summer the 15K is a must. The main thing we like ours is for the heat pump. The heat pump is ideal for taking a chill off in the morning or middle of the night when you do not want to run the propane furnace. wr jml
