2012 3010DS Couch Replacement/Slide Base Question

I have seen the posts about RecPro replacements and am interested in the wall hugger recliners. My concern are the measurements of the slide base. RecPro states the slide base needs to be at least 39 inches to fit and my 3010DS is only 34 inches. RecPro also says in one of the Q&A sections that some folks have bolted down the recliners to the slide to allow them to work with some overhang. Has anyone tried this? Would anyone bolt the recliners to the slide base? Thanks for any input.

2012 3010DS Couch Replacement/Slide Base Question

I replaced my couch with the rec pro recliners. I wound up screwing 1 or 2(can’t remember) 2x4’s into the front of the slide. Also used 3/4” plywood on the top of the slide. Screwed the 2x4 into that.I had some left over carpet from a house remodel that I put over the entire slide, and then bolted the recliner down to the slide with lag bolts. Because it sits up on the slide it’s going to be a little higher than the couch that was made for being on the slide. You’ll also have an area that you can see under the recliners. I used vinyl molding used for walls to finish it off underneath. Overall very happy with how it looks and they are much more comfortable than the couch!

While ours are not in a slide, thus I had a flat floor to work with, I decided to replace our dinette with theater seats that recline:

These need to be set about 3 1/2 inches from the wall, leaving a bit of space behind that can be used as storage. It's a bit difficult to access, but hey, that's part of the fun!

For installation into a slide, I've seen kits to install rollers on the front bases.
