2012 3010DS couch to recliner switch

I have read several posts about others that have made the switch from the horribly uncomfortable couch to recliner seats from places like wayfair.com. But my question ... my couch sits on some sort of box and my current couch has no legs. So when I get these new recliners, do the seats sit on that box? That seems like it would be higher that normal and wouldn't look or function correctly.

1. is there a specific recliner I need to look for that fits?
2. Do I need to remove this make-shift raised platform before switching to recliners?
3. If I remove that box, whats underneath?

Can anyone provide some assistance and possibly the steps in doing this correctly?

I can not help with details on how to convert, but I have an album posted that shows how they are attached. It looks like the front legs of the recliners hang over the slide floor. They sit level, so does that mean that they removed rear legs or pulled back the upholstery, shaved an equal amount off the back, then reattached the upholstery? Dunno, but maybe the pics will help. Youll notice these are modular theatre seats.
