2013 3010DS Gallons of water found Front Cap
Last thing i would have ever expected when buying a 2013 with only 3,000. miles on it and a fiberglass roof. I noticed some rust stains on the underside (bottom) of my front cap molding. I then pealed the molding off and unscrewed the front cap. About two gallons off water followed.
I have been using a shop vac to blow air into the cap and dry it out along with some bleach to kill any mold or funk. After 3 days of 12 hours of air flow its now dry. I have also applied either bond tape to all areas were the roof meets the body, around ever vent and any area i can find to use it. I will next clean and re-caulk every window and any joint o the side of my RV.
Should i use non leaving caulk to rejoin the bottom of the cap before i rescrew it? or no caulk so i can check in the future for more water?
Bottom line i feel the that they should be using this tape in the factory and for what i payed i should not even be having these issues with such a new RV.
Also please get your rv roof cleaned and tape the hell out of it before you get water in your cap. Hope this helps someone and thanks for your reply.
