2014 vs 2013 model 3011DS

We just bought our 2013 3011DS a few months ago. We were in the dealer today and noticed they had the new 2014 model in so decided to look and see if anything was different. LOVED the fact the sofa is now a pull out instead of a jack knife. I'm going to see if that's something I can get swapped out on ours. Also loved that the passenger seat could swivel around and provide more seating. The salesman said our 2013 might be able to swivel too and when I looked it didn't seem to be able to do it. Anyone know if they can swivel on 2013 or earlier?

They do not. If you search on this forum "swivel seats solera", many people have purchased after market swivel conversions from The Sprinter Store. That is what had to be done before we started buying the chassis from Mercedes with their swivel option.

I don't know that it was a precise model year change. When we ran out of fixed seat chassis we started using swivel seat chassis, so there may be a few 2013's with the swivel seats out there...but all 2014 should have them

I too was in the dealer a couple of weeks back and they had a new 2014 model on the floor. After all my complaints about the TV in the living area I was glad to see that they have rectified the situation. The TV doesn't sit so deeply into its cabinet. You can easily reach the plug in ports on the side and the retaining struts on the back can be easily accessed to slacken them off if you need to remove the TV from it's hanger. Also the switch box has been removed from its built in cabinet and set in a cupboard under the counter top. Marvellous.

Oh sure, one more reason we should have waited a few more months to buy lol! Actually, I'm really very happy with ours. Today I found the pull out sofa used in the 2014 at Camping World for $1000. We're going to put it off till next year but will be a worthwhile upgrade. Now if I can only convince my husband to do the swivel seat conversion....

Yea, I know. It's always better to wait for the sooper-dooper latest model.

It sounds a lot like my luck buying computers. I used to get the very latest, biggest, badest machine available and within a week it had been supeceded by a new introduction and was on sale.

We've been pleased with ours too. It's camping afterall only with the comforts of modern living. You kind of expect little things to go wrong and as long as it's nothing major, we'll be happy. Even though there's only the two of us, I will have to look in to the swivel front seat option. I think that would be a nice addition.
