2016 Forester 3011ds TV sound

I know we have surround sound but the tv in the living room(only one we use) only has sound coming from the tiny tv speakers. Is there a way to get tv sound they the surround sound speakers?

There should be an HDMI cable connected to the TV HDMI connection labeled ARC (probably HDMI 2). If that cable is there then remove the stereo/dvd player and verify the HDMI cable is connected there. If, then select HDMI/ARC on the player while the TV is on.

I believe emm-dee is referring to a Jensen nav/media player in the dash. That’s where mine is connected but mine is 2015 so no HDMI and the settings are slightly different. I have a red and white rca cable connected to the audio out of the tv. I select Arc-2 as the source on the Jensen, turn off the tv speakers in it’s settings and change the audio output to variable I believe.
In the equalizer settings of the Jensen you can set the front-rear fade between door speakers and coach speakers.

Thank you for that link. I noticed last camping trip when I watch DVD's I have stereo but on regular TV not. I think the link will help, especially since I didn't read any directions.

I have 3011ds. Turn on the stereo next to the TV and go through the modes until surround sound comes on. It works through the stereo.

Ok but our 2016 3011ds does not have a stereo next to the tv. It has one in dashboard and one behind the rv which is outside.
