Exclamation 2016 Forester electric issue 12v exterior plug

When trying to use the 12v exterior plug to run an air pump it pulled too much current & blew a fuse. Now none of the lights on the panel by the door work (awning, porch, etc.) and the step extension switch is not functioning either. Checked all the fuses we're able to locate but they are all good . There may be an inline but we can't see it.

Di dyou check the fuses and the 12volt circuit breakers in the battery control center. This is not the same as your main fuse/breaker/ converter box. It is usally mounted near the batteries possibly in the step well.

So you Forester has an external 12V plug? That's the first time I've heard of that. Are you sure we are not talking about the external Zamp connector for connecting portable solar panels to the batteries?

Mine has one as well. It is mounted next to the 120 VAC outlet along with a coax connection for a external TV.
The Zamp solar port is a separate connector in a different location.

Now you've heard of it twice!

Do you have the outside TV option?

Mine is in the outside entertainment center with a CD/Radio, two speakers, 120 volt double outlet coaxial connection and a 12 volt power point.

OK... I wonder then if FR adds the outside 12V and coax connections in units that have no outside TV. That would make sense since that would at least allow an owner to more easily connect their own TV when want to.

2016 Forester electric issue 12v exterior plug

That could be on the ones without outside entertainment.

Our 3051 only has two 120 outlets on passenger side middle of the coach. Going to have to look in the entertainment center area again but don't remember one there.

The only coax hookup we have is in the wet bay with the power ext for the whole coach to be hooked up

I was surprised to find our 2013 Sunseeker 2500TS only came with 1 exterior 120v outlet,,, in where the radio is !!! Our old Flagstaff TT had a double exterior outlet !!!
I am guessing the exterior outlet in the Sunseeker breaker would be the same as the one for the radio ???

On 2nd thought Ill bet the radio in 12 v ???

Our GTS2800QSF had a 12VDC outlet, and cable TV, just below the AC power outlets. Our new 2018 TS 2390 also has both as well. Neither unit had an outside TV option.

I've attached a couple of pictures from the web that show the outlets on the passenger side of a Sunseeker GTS. I never noticed any in line fuses around the 12VDC power plug. But behind it was pretty well hidden from easy view...

Appears no two are alike. My late 2017 3051, no outside TV.

Our 2018 TS 2390 looks like the 2017.5 3051S with the dual outlets side by side instead of stacked.

In my 2016 Sunseeker the fuse was one of the 12V 15 amp on the control panel. It was labeled "porch light" but, as you found, controlled several other items. To figure this out without a voltmeter or continuity tester, I simply took the last fuse out and started replacing all the ones above it, one at a time, sequentially with the previous one.

On the 3051, a led comes on next to a blown fuse in the panel so you know which is blown.
