Hi again! Our RV has a bar on the door (door entering the living area). The bar doesn't allow the door to open all the way. I can remove the bar, but then we need a door catch. Hubby doesn't want to drill into the side of the RV. Does anyone have recommendations? The pic is one that I got off the internet with a latch, but every latch I see, we would have to drill into the side of the RV. Any recommendations/suggestions is appreciated. TYIA

If you don't want to drill I'd use 3M Bodyside Molding Tape. It holds very well in automotive applications. Just clean everything really well with rubbing alcohol before applying the tape. I've never had the tape fail, and I've used it for years, but if the wind really grabs your door it might pull off the tape.

The new 3051’s don’t let the door open all the way and there is no door catch on the outside of the RV? Why do they keep changing things out that worked fine?

Nvrsaynvr and radman are talking about tow different things, Nvrsaynvr has a piston preventing the door from going 180 degrees. I've asked thses 2 questions on another thread but got no answer. Is the anything on the side of the coach to prevent the door form laying back flat against the coach? Will the hinges allow the door to go 180 degrees if the piston is removed from the door?

WHY? What is the obstruction if the piston was removed? Design of the hinges? Something on the side? Window? Hood Vent?
That’s my point. My 2015 3051 does not have a piston and my door swings all the way open and I have the catch on the outside wall. Why did they change this? Perhaps the y had 2 different style doors depending on the model and wanted to reduce inventory and carry only the one?

The door is always in the way when it doesn't open all the way. When we sit the chairs under the awning we have to work around the door because the door stays open right in the middle of the chairs. Also if we have people watching tv outside, we have to shut the door, because when it stays open, it blocks the view of the tv for the people who are sitting near the middle of the coach. What a dumb design. If the rod was taken off, yes, the door would open flat against the rig. We basically have to keep the door closed if we want to use the outdoor space under the awning. There would be no issues if the piston was removed, except that there is no door catch on the wall of the rig. That was My original question - for suggestions on a door latch catch that we don't have to drill. My rig is in storage far away, but I will take pics next time I'm up there.

the left side of the large window appears to be an emergency exit from pictures of the interior I have seen. I know it sounds stupid..... BUT.....And this is lawyer speak here...... A door latched to the outside would block the emergency exit. Don't shoot the messenger.
Several other 2017 3051 - doors open all the way flush. I have seen them in person. The third pic that has the door open (half way), (that's not my set up), but I was just posting as an example that the door doesn't open all the way flush. I think I will just go with the 3M idea for now. The first pic shows the door latch under the window, ours doesn't have this. The second pic is what my rig looks like, less the door opening all the way.

The third vehicle is not the same model and the door only opens halfway because of the awning arms which would prevent the door from opening all the way when the awning is down. This is the same as my 3011.
