First, you need to specify which model Forester you are asking about. There are many different 2017 Forester models. With that information provided, someone can probably get you the answer you need. Otherwise, you may get a bunch of irrelevant answers or misinformation.

The freshwater holding tank drain is the same area as the water filter. That would be in the 2nd compartment from the rear on the door side, behind the black access panel inside the compartment. There will be a 1/4 turn valve below and towards the rear of the water filter.

The low point drain is in the same place but typically no valve just a threaded cap on the pex line under the coach

Edit: compartment location may be inaccurate based on your floorplan..

It's the 2017 forest river forester.

That’s like saying you drive a General Motors Chevrolet.

Near your entrance door, or on a detailed description on a document glued inside the back of one of your kitchen cupboards, there should be a model number.

Another place to look is your drivers door jamb. Here's mine:

Just below the date code, you'll see the model - mine is a 2250SLEC. I'm not sure what the SSC prefix means, however. But what's important is those 4 numbers, and to some extent, the following letters.

For model specific diagrams of specific object such as the low point drains, visit the sticky at https://www.forestriverforums.com/fo...on-234520.html .

I found a slightly incorrect version of mine, which is dated 1/27/2021 where I have a 2016 model:

as most of of do, there's two locations - the fresh water tank drain and low point drains. My low point drains are just aft of the side entrance door:

Your location will vary, again, depending on your model and year.

Yes, you had said that already, but it is not enough information for people to give you an exact answer. According to the 2017 Forest River Forester brochure, to which I attached a link, there are 18 different models of 2017 Foresters. Which one of those 18 models do you have?

Okay, went through this myself. Try going to the very back of the RV. My drain is found behind a plastic screw in panel on the side of the bed frame facing the rear wall of the RV. Unscrew the hatch and reach inside the valve should be just inside.
Good luck.
