2018 2291SF issues

I have a 2018 Forester 2291SF. When I use the turn
signals the video display switches to the side camera
(which is wonderful). But when the turn signal is released
the video display momentarily goes to some "Pandora
disconnected" display before bringing the rear camera
back up. Is there some way to disable & get rid of the
Pandora thing its trying to do all the time?

Also, the turn signal flashing speed is really fast and
annoying? Is there any way to slow the flashing rate
down? There is only one flasher PN listed with my
Ford parts dealer.

Thanks,
Rich

the speed of the flasher may be due to one of the bulb filament being burned out, worth a check. I have no idea of how the camera's work or should work. Good luck let the forum know what you find

My Pioneer radio switches the cameras the same way.... slow.
I use my mirrors before remembering I have side cameras anyway. Personally I'd rather it stay on rear view. I'm thinking if I disconnect the side camera inputs then it will stay on the rear camera. I need to read more to see if the switching delay is adjustable first. I'll post on this thread if I discover anything.

X2 on your flasher speed. It usually means a front or rear bulb is out/needs replacing. If a rear bulb it's more than likely also a brake light.
If it flashes fast on both directions check all bulbs front and rear. If they all work then replace the flasher. I've only had to replace a flasher once in over 50 years of driving.

Put the new RV in storage for the winter so wont be able to
check the turn signals until spring. Also forgot to take the
in dash Pioneer owners manual home with me. Does anybody
know what model it is? I'd like to research the Pandora
issue..... Thx.

Unfortunately that is how the Pioneer head unit coupled with the Rear View Safety camera multiplexer works. There is no way to prevent this from happining.
My solution to this issue (as I like to keep a eye on the toad especially in turns) was to disconnect the rear camera from the RVS multiplexer and feed it to a dedicated monitor.

Netgain,
The delay is not adjustable. In order to prevent the side cameras from overriding the rear you will need to disconnect the 2 turn signal trigger wires (yellow & white) from the multiplexer. A better option would be to add a DPST switch in the circuit to open the trigger signals when you want them disabled. The multiplexer is located under the dash to the left of the steering wheel. Most likely held in by a zip tie.

Thanks Steve. Your knowledge about these rigs and the installed equipment never ceases to amaze me.
Adding a switch to the trigger wires is great idea!

I was able to reduce the delay time to a few seconds on my 2017 2861, but it uses the RVS display in place of the rear view mirror, not the Pioneer radio. The RVS display has menu buttons and I went to the "Trigger Delay" and reduced the setting. If the cameras and multiplexer are still the RVS brand, can you access the menu with the Pioneer display?

A few seconds works good for me, but I like Steve's idea to add a switch to allow disabling the side cameras. I would like to have them on when in city traffic to watch for stuff next to me but not on the highway and just changing lanes.

Bob

The multiplexer does not have any adjustments either physical or via software for the delay. The delay issue is the result of the Pioneer head unit being in the manual backup camera mode (Pioneers software not RVS). When the multiplexer sends the signal to the head unit to switch to camera mode the head unit switches immediately as it should. When the multiplexer drops the signal the head unit switches back to the radio mode then after a 3 second or so delay (not adjustable) back to the manual backup camera mode. This is what causes the behavior the OP asked about.

The display that Bob has has the the multiplexer intergrated to the display and has additional functionally as well as eliminates the interaction between the RVS multiplexer and the Pioneer head unit.

The cameras and multiplexer are RVS.
Probably more info then you needed!
