I felt exactly the same way. It was hard to pull the trigger. However after installing it and taking 2-month long trips, I went from not looking forward to the next leg of the trip to actually looking forward to driving. Drastically improved handling when towing the toad. Without a toad it’s like driving a really big car. I’m at the age now where the dollars aren’t as important as compared to the enjoyment I can get out of spending them wisely.
