They make rechargeable batteries for these recliners. You can check with Brad’s and Hall. That is what they installed in my Forester.

1. Is the new power reclining love seat powered by AC voltage?
2. Have you tested for AC power at the outlet for the love seat?
3. What is this junction box supposed to power?
4. Are you on shore power or have the generator running?
5. All other AC powered outlets working okay?

The loveseat is A/C powered. We bought this RV a few months ago and during the walk through the tech mentioned the power box under the slide and said it was there in case we needed power for any new devices so I incorrectly assumed there was power there.I installed a new outlet behind the loveseat on the slide using a heavy gauge cord that is cooked and ran it down to the existing junction box.

I can’t help you going forward before you answer my other 4 questions.
I don’t know your RV experience, but I know that no one should ever trust an RV salesperson.

I'm not sure what unit you have but I believe the junction box you are using could be the generator box. Start the generator and see if it works.

There is no “Generator Box” on a 3010DS. It has an automatic transfer switch.

Can you post a photo of this mystery box please?

Also, although most power furniture uses 120v, the AC power normally is connected to a transformer. That is why you can run them off a rechargeable battery as AbdRahim wrote.

https://www.amazon.com/battery-pack-...ning+furniture

Edit: After a review I read where you wrote junction and not outlet. So I will correct my initial post as it could very well be the connection from your ATS to the genset. If that is the case then you could have tapped directly into a 30A 120V power source.

Speaking of photos, below is one I just took. It is a Southern Motion power supply for my sofa. The sofa is a Designed to Recline + So Cozi. It has two power recliners with power headrest, lombar, heat and massage along with the usual recline function. You can see the connector where the battery would replace the power supply. The output is 29V 2A.

Hmmm. It looks like there are 2 conduits entering the box from the side and a tube with a redish sheathed wire coming from the top. Is the one from the top your doing?

Yes the one from the top is the wiring to the outlet I installed on the slide behind the loveseat.

As was suggested earlier that is the connection from the generator to the transfer switch. That box will only be hot when the generator is running. That is not where you want to connect any additional loads. The only protection for that box is the 30 amp circuit breaker mounted on the generator.

I would guess that your generator is in the next bay on the side where the 2 liquidtite conduits exit.

OK. If the wires entering the box from the side are 10awg then they are rated for 30A. I would not recommend tapping directly into that. I would also advise that running any wire through a knockout in a metal box without a connector is likely to cause a short from the vibration.

I also think that box is where your ATS connects to your genset output. If that is true, the wires would be 10 gauge and you can easily verify that by starting the genset. The ATS will auto default to the generator so it does not matter if you are on shore power or not.

In any case, that power source will probably not work for you. I suggest you seriously consider the battery option. That way you can operate your recliners while boondocking.

Just a caution, make sure when you reconnect the 10 gauge wires from the generator to transfer switch that they are tight & secure, also best to put a couple wraps of electrical tape on the wire nuts. Those wires carry 30 amps and will heat up quickly if the connection is not solid.

Also get a 3/4" knockout seal to replace the knockout you removed on the box.
