2019 forest river forester WiFi extender ?

Does anyone know if there is a WiFi extender on the new 2019 forester?

I was reading they were standard on 2018 models I’m looking around and don’t see anything. I know behind the tv in the bedroom there’s the tvonetouch box and a small switch with a WiFi antenna but it doesn’t have any information on it and the one control box is screed into this small switch. When googling it looks like theirs a power switch to turn it on but I don’t see anything like that in my rv? Maybe I’m missong something I know I have missed a lot and found all answers on this forum haven’t seen many posts about this

So I think I got it working. I connect to my RVs WiFi via my iPhone. Once connected I hit the ! Point next to the WiFi to show me what my phones IP address was. It said it was 192.168.1.100. So I’m a web browser on my phone I typed 192.168.1.2 and it asked me for a username and password. Admin for both spots will get you right in.

There is a section called modes. The last option will let u pick wireless isp I believe it’s called which will allow you to go to the wireless screen and pick a wireless network you want to repeat. It will also ask you for the password of the wireless has one.

Will see what happens I’m going see how far it will reach now with this in place.

OH yeah there is a box mounted in the bedroom behind the tv it has the onelink system on it and that box is mounted to a 5 port switch box with an antenna. You could plug in a laptop or other wired device if you had to

I have a 2018 Model 2801QF and I don't recall any Wifi Extender being included. There is a local network you tie your phone into to access the Lippert OneControl with but I sure wasn't told by my dealer that it was also a cell signal Extender. Are you sure?

Yeah i was in it while on my last trip was able to extend the wifi it was nice. Its not very easy to access luckily i work in I.T. for a living so i was able to pull it up and get it connected

When talking to Forest River I was told that wifi extender was not put in the forester but in a travel trailer (can't remember the exact trailer). I have a 2018 also and don't have that wifi extender.

This may help: The OP is alleged to have a 2019 Forester 3011DS. Maybe the WiFi extender is a new addition.

Yes this is correct its brand new 2019. I thought I did read somewhere that the new models has this in them out of the gate it wasn't an additional upgrade. Either way its really cool and really helps extend the wifi

From the OP's description it sounds like he is talking about the unit that is part of the MyRV/Onecontrol system rather than the WiFi/Cellular Extender (Winegard ConnectT maybe?) that has been reported as being added to newer RVs.

In any event I want to thank him for mentioning it. I had set up my own wifi network in my 2018 3011DS using a client mode router (a Netgear WNDR4500 flashed with dd-wrt firmware with the wireless WAN side to campground wifi or iPad hotspot or home wifi when home) and the LAN side to an AP that provided wifi access for Apple TVs, Dish Wally, phones, etc). I was able to eliminate the AP and use the MyRV/Onecontrol wifi network for both Onecontrol access and internet connectivity. There may be various was of accomplishing this but I connected a Client mode router LAN port to the WAN port of the MyRV/Onecontrol router (in my case the WAN port was covered with black tape next to the four yellow LAN ports) and made a few configuration changes (set up MyRV/Onecontrol router WAN with a static IP in the same subnet as the Client mode router LAN and turned off DHCP in the client mode router.

Yes sorry was not talking about a cellular extender was talking about a WIFI extender which seems to be built in the Onecontrol router. Theres not much information on the unit or how to configure this from the Admin side but I dont think this has cellular in it. I probably could buy a cellar card and connect it possibly didn't spend a ton of time in the admin side. Will have to next trip and see what other features I can find. Just wanted others to know of this nice feature thats not talked about in any manual.
