I'm getting ready to upgrade from my TT and want to move into a smaller class c. Most trips will just be my wife and me, so we don't need a lot of space. I have been in a 2300, but am interested in anyone's opinion of the 2450s.
I'm hoping you find good opinions since ours is on order
We never saw one in person, but looked at other models with similar features. We believe the size is perfect for us. Some key features we wanted were: less than 28 feet, 80" bed in the back, shower door, "U" shaped dinette on a E450 chassis.

We have had ours since March 1st. Bought it on line from a dealer in PA and his Mom and Dad delivered it to us in KY. We had not been in a 2450S until delivery. We looked at 2300 and there is a difference with the slide alone. Much more space. We have been on 2 extended vacations and just love everything about it. It drives and maneuvers great. We got it with full body paint and overhead entertainment system as it is just my wife and I. We have had many warranty issues and all were fixed. It was a great choice for our very first coach. We get many comments about the inside and full paint, we are very happy 2450S owners. And we chose the Chevy 4500 platform with 6.0 Max engine and do get 12 mpg at 62 MPH and no car.
Don't forget to look at the 2500TS. Newer floor plan. Similar layout to 2450, but with a bed slide so you gain a walk around bed.

We looked at the 2500 and it was great except the comfort of the bed with the upgraded Serta in the 2450S won. Was not sure about a mattress that folds a bit. I guess we are getting old.
I did see the 2500TS and noticed that it did not have the roof access ladder due to the rear slide. This could be an inconvenience if you needed to check on the roof for any reason. Does the Chevy 4500 on the 2450s provide enough power to climb the steep hills? I am also curious about the "many warranty issues" you experienced.
You may want to take a look at the 2650S. It is 17" longer, but 100lbs lighter and has 50lbs more NCC. At March 2013 prices (when we ordered) was $300 cheaper. It does have a slightly better Length to Wheel Base ratio (Length/WB) which means better handling and less sway. And it has the rear ladder.
The 2690S has the best Length/Wheel-Base ratio, but my orders where walk around Queen Bed for ease of making and (because we're pushing 60) is easier getting out of when required ;o) Your MPG may vary...
If only the 2650S had a 60 X 80 bed it would be perfect. Even a 6' person will have their feet hanging over when extended. It is amazing that some of the larger units only have a 60 X 74 bed.

That is also why we ordered the 2450s. I like the bed size and you can use it without having the slide out. Also the DW wanted the "U" dinette.
