2860ds slide air leak

When our couch slide is out, we can feel air blowing in under the couch. Anyone have a solution for this?

Any gaps under your slide and the rubber seals?

The gear tracks and oven gas tubing are on the bottom of the slide so the rubber has to fit around them. A poor design. I was asking if anyone's come up with a good solution.

All of my slides have gaps at the corners. They are not airtight. I stuff a small piece of foam rubber on the inside corners of the bedroom slide to block air drafts, rodents and bugs.

If misery loves company, I have the same issue with my slide outs on my 2860, easiest solution is to use foam rubber as Abdrahim suggests. I too would like to know a better solution, if there is one.

X2 on foam

On our ROO, you could see lots of daylight behind the couch. If you dropped something behind the couch, if fell down into the storage area under the couch. I put a piece of plywood under the couch, and sealed it with foam rummer. Now it is much nicer.

As cheaply as these units are built, the markup must be 200%.

I cut pool noodles for each area. You can cut pool noodle for the gear tracks. I than marked them. Helps a lot. The DW uses a draft snake, in front of the couch. Probably cuts down about 85% of the draft. Just need to remember to remove them.
If anybody has a better solution, I am all ears.

2860ds slide air leak

Discovered our 2451s has gaps too while camping in Canada. Kept getting lots of mosquitoes in the camper. We have an under floor slide and there are good size gaps around the tracks. Used rags on the road but looking for a better solution. Will try cutting pool noodles to fit. Then gotta come up with a way to remember to remove them before closing slide.

2860ds slide air leak

Every camper I've ever owned had gaps that allowed air and BUGS by the thousands inside our living area. It was a lot of work but I got so sick of the flying pests I pulled the front of the couch, the outside cover under the slide and seal so I could install 2" thick foam rubber in the space so that it gets compressed upon opening the slide to firm a much better seal. That was fifteen years ago and RCH camper has a different design so you will need to figure out how to seal up the giant gaps in yours. I have had enough aggravation and expenses with slide outs and I said no more slides. I now have a no slide MH. Not perfect but I know when I'm ready to leave a site I more longer sweat over the slide not coming in and fighting mosquitos and box elder bugs sleeping with us.
