3011 DS 2018 Forester antenna

I was on the roof installing two vent covers this morning and i also did a walk around to check the caulking. (they seem to have done an excellent job !!).
and i found a very strange antenna just to the rear of the forward vent. It's base is approx. 10" diameter and has 3 10" rods and 3 5" rods sticking up and says Winegard. I assume its for the My rv system, but i'm not sure. any one know for sure?
I also saw a label on the outside of the A/C cover that has all the info about the unit ~ ser no, part no, size, hp, and other info. i took a picture of it because I'm sure the sun will bleach it out in short order.

Sounds like a Winegard WIFI extender.

I've read that some 2018 models now include a wi-fi extender.

The my RV system's Internet access is disabled on our 2017 Forester so the only communication is between the router, modules, tablets and phone app.

I was at a RV show this weekend and it does appear the new units are coming with a WiFi extender. That's an awesome option. Way to go FR.

i'm having guests this weekend, won't be able to investigate further for a couple days, i hope you people are on the right track with the wifi extender thought. They never mentioned it to me when i bought the rig, i think i will contact Lippert on Monday an see if they know any thing.
Thanks for the answers

Hopefully you received a pouch of owners manuals, etc for all or most of the items installed in your rig.
You'll want to go through them as they will be very helpful.

The extender will have a default username and password that you'll more than likely need in order to use it. You'll want to choose your own when setting it up. This will not be the same as the MyRV info that you'll probably find inside an upper cabinet.

All of the extenders I've seen with antennas like you described have a companion piece somewhere inside the coach. In your case it should have the Winegard name on it and possibly an ethernet connection for a hard wired (as opposed to wi-fi) device.

Taking a photo of the air conditioner tag is a great idea!

Hope you enjoy your purchase. We have.

Now if they could figure out a way to add a dedicated satellite input on the side of the coach......

That would be the Winegard Connect 4G +LTE. Its a WIFI booster and has Wingard proprietary 4G cellular internet connectivity. The cell connectivity is a subscrption service. As was mentioned there should be a wnd peice of the system somewhere inside your rig as well as documentation.

That may be on the roof near the air conditioner if your rig was wired for it.
May be covered in Dicor lap sealant.

Smile 2018 3011DS signal booster

Hello,

I recently purchased a 2018 3011DS with 3 tvs (2 inside, 1 outside). Does the signal booster work for all 3 tvs? I seem to be getting fewer channels on the bedroom and outdoor tvs than on the living room tv. Is there a way to switch which tv the booster is working on?

The antenna booster is for all three TVs ! I’m assuming you have scanned for channels on all three TVs ?
