3011DS wins the battle

We've been looking at the Forester and FR3. Finally zoomed in on the Forester 3011DS Saturday. Down payment done and arranging insurance now for delivery later this week. Wanted the mossy green furniture but settled with the in-stock cream color instead of waiting.
I'll probably be picking your brains here in the new future. Lots of new technology and equipment here and a big learning curve ahead.

Yes to 3011DS

We just bought a 2017 Forester 3011DS a couple of months ago - been on three trips already. We love the coach - the layout - my wife loves the large kitchen counter - overall we are very happy with our decision. If you have the two door stainless refrigerator - don't jerk on the right door handle too hard (if it feels like the door is sticking) - cause I did and the handle broke ($ 45.00 to replace including shipping). Pull the left door open first - that seems to work better. Anyway - welcome and enjoy.

Good to know. We'll have the 4 door frig with ice maker. Thanks

CONGRATS!!! Make sure when you go to pick it up you have a check list in hand. Make sure they fill all the tanks with water to check the sensors. My mistake on ours and been in the shop 3 times for it.
Not sure if they told you that the ice maker works on A/C only.
DON'T take the RV unless you have everything fixed!!! Once you drive it off the lot you have to make an appointment and leave it there to when they find time to work on it.

I do hope yours is way better than ours when we picked it up. not trying to scare you just making sure that you enjoy the RV and not having to take it in for repairs right after you use it for the first time.

Hint - Don't just pull on the handles, push them slightly towards the center and then pull. I have made the mistake of letting some first time guests get something out the frig only to find out later that they broke the handles. They are easy to replace but also easily broken.

Good luck with the new 3011, we really like our 2016 model.

Ok. Picking it up,
tomorrow, Thursday.
Sold my rockwood 8282ws to my nephew and niece who have admired it since day one. Truck bed looks odd with hitch removed. Wife says she's kinda sad. Lol
Now I have to change profile picture.

The first time you back in & set up in 5-10 minutes, your wife will forget all about the trailer!

Ours broke too when we were traveling on our first trip out. Contacted FR and they sent us a new set if handles at the campground we were in. FR just happened to have them. Otherwise Dometic should cover it under warranty. The dealer had to eventually replace all 4 doors because they wouldn’t shut correctly. They have been fine since. Just be gentle as they are just plastic handles but any problems should be taken care of with the warranty. We have a 2017 3011DS and just replaced our trifold sofa with reclining loveseat with console. Now we really love ours!! So comfortable after driving all day.

Do you have any photos of it? Even though ours is a 3051s, we are thinking of replacing the jack knife couch with recliner type.

No. Wife has a Highlander. We may get a dolly for that, but eventually we'll find a flat toad.

Got it home now. So much to learn. Not a good PDI at all. Fellow was nice enough. Just kept giving me bad information. Things I already knew and could show him in the manuals. For instance, he said "the manual says to never let the auto levelers lift a tire off the ground." It can not be leveled with lifing the front off the ground. The manual says "never lift ALL tires off the ground." Common sense. A few other things to but I finally stopped asking questions. I'll figure it out. This is #4 after all.
Thanks all for the insights.Click image for larger version
