3051 Forester Mods

Here is the hamper cupboard. My husband changed the hinges and made it into a regular cupboard. We have done quite a bit of mods, this is my favorite. Added a much needed cupboard.

Long closet by front door. I added a couple of command hooks and a couple baskets from the dollar store. Sorry, I am trying to flip/rotate the pics and they still come out sideways.

Donít you hate the knobs on these cupboards? We have them ,and they kill our hands every time we have to yank them open!

Converted the dining room bed into a queen bed. Our dining room cushions dont fit the bed correctly. Ugh! So I cut a piece of 18x18x4 piece of foam in half and made my own cushions. The gel topper looks bumpy, its because its straight out of the shipping package and hasn't formed yet. It will lay flat once it breathes.

Just a couple of things I like. Toothbrush holder that sticks to mirror. The shower caddy that hangs from the shower door. I wish I remembered where I bought the caddy at. I love it. Stays on even driving on rough roads. Of course tons of command hooks for towels. And broom holder, which we use to hold our broom and flashlights.

The cable box in the bedroom was behind the t.v., so every time you wanted to change the channel or adjust the volume, you had to get up and open the cupboard that the tv was mounted on. Hubby drilled a whole and put the cable box in the small cupboard underneath the tv. He will buy some brackets to hang the box now.

Hubby added the air vents to all the vents on the rig. I forgot to ask him to take pics on top of the RV. But we put dark black air vents up there, to help with the sunlight beating down inside the rig.

We bought this because my brothers memory foam mattress in his rig molded. It is used in boats to keep mattresses from molding. We still need to cut this to fit the mattress size and lay it between the board and our memory foam mattress. It helps the mattress breathe. After spending $600.00 on the mattress and then seeing my brother buy the same mattress and his molded pretty quickly, this 145.00 breather is worth it!!

We also had a HD Direct TV satellite dish installed and all three TVs wired for HD. That was a pretty penny. $$$$ We had the tow bar installed to tow our Jeep Grand Cherokee behind it. Installed a Patriot Brake system and had all the wires hidden in the jeep - all the way to the back brake lights on the Jeep. No wires in sight at all. The list is long. The rig is in storage far away, but will take more pics again, once we are up there. I am currently searching for pull out storage bins for inside the closets.

I bought this too and stuck it to the wall, next to the kitchen window, near the sink. I was worried the husband wouldn't like it visible. He is very clean and doesn't like misc stuff showing or stuck to walls. He used it and said that he really likes the sponge holder.

Cupboard next to Hamper Door

You know that little cupboard next to the hamper door .. (??). As mentioned before, my husband changed the hinges on the hamper door to make a regular cupboard. I use the small cupboard next to the hamper door to store my cleaning supplies. When I reached to grab something in the back, I would knock over my cleaning supplies. Then I found this wonderful pull out organizer on Amazon for $19.95! It fits perfectly! I searched high and low for a perfect size pull out organizer and this fits GREAT! I forgot to take a picture of it after I put it in the cupboard, but I will be back at the RV the first week of Aug 2018 and will post a pic! LOVE IT!

Was searching for room to install a fairly large sub woofer and found lotsa empty space under the dinette benches. Got rid of the permanent screws and replaced with 30 inch piano hinges. Aft seat doesn’t have quite as much room as the forward one because of the seat belt system.

Also changed out all the knuckle buster cabinet knobs with the round version. Same appearance as the OEM stuff.

At some point during every day you suddenly realize nothing else productive is going to happen the rest of that day. For me, it usually occurs around 9 am.
