3170 DS Rear Slide

I have a 2013 3170 DS and my rear slide will not operate. Unfortunately it is in the out position and the unit is not operable. Is there any way to slide in manually?

My controller is in one of the passenger side storage compartments if memory serves - may be behind a panel.

3170 DS Rear Slide

If you can't get it in electronic override then go full manual ...

Had the same problem with 2017 3050s. Avcessing the controller is a good first step. Maybe the manual override might work. However, in my case the slide motor shorted due to pinched wires so the override was absolutely useless. If the controller override doesn't help you may have to disengage the motor so you can put a shoulder to the slide and push it back in. Afterward re-engage the motor to keep the slide in and use slide locks to keep the slide in to get to the dealer. Good luck.

Did you access the motors from the inside or outside? Don't need to, just asking.

From the outside because the slide was all the way out. But it can be accessed from either side although it is in a really tight spot. There is a screw that keeps the motor locked in so you have to loosen it and use a screwdriver to pop it up and out of the way. There's a short wire harness that comes out of it and often gets pinched shorting the motor because the slide crushes it. BTW the motor is about the same size as a roll of half dollars but twice as long.

You're welcome. BTW, after experiencing the slide problem I realized in a way it turned out to be a good thing. I never would have thought to keep slide locks handy.
