Our A/C in our Forester would not cool, nor would the heat pump heat. Took it to dealer, they sad it is a closed Freon system and there isn't anything wrong with it. Also, water pump would not work, we had an extra spare, it as well would not work. Dealer said the water pump was bad, replaced it $295.
Took rig to different repair shop, was told the A/C we had was part of a bad batch of serial numbers Dometic had, and we needed a new A/C.
$1200 later, have new A/C. Have never had these type of issues on such a new rig.
