Our dinette slide had a problem last trip out. The slide starts out correctly but in about three inches the rear corner (inside) stops, as if it's hitting something. I think it's a Lippert product but I don't have a real drawing of the construction. I removed the drawer under the bench and the wooden face of the bench for a chance to see the problem. Using my flexible inspection light I can see the pinion is not meshing with the teeth on the rack. The set screw shows a lot of threads so it may be loose. As the motor runs, the pinion teeth hit the end of a bolt, blocking further movement. Electrics are fine, but the issue is how to get the pinion back in position, with so little space to work in, under the slide but above the MoHo floor.
Anybody have experience with an above floor system?

Thanks Bama, that is exactly my problem.
It's a very difficult place to work and I can't see how one would get access from under the slide when it is out.
The mechanism is on the floor of the RV, well inside from the outside wall.

I found the two set screws mentioned on the Lippert drawing. One was very loose. I managed to slide the crown gear
under the rack so the teeth are in sync. Had to modify a screwdriver with a hex tip to tighten the loose set screw. Put
some locktite on the threads, hopefully it will stay tight. Can't get the other set screw as I have to move the slide out to
rotate the crown gear and can't reach the set screw in the new position.

It's working now, and that was the objective.

It was necessary to remove the drawer under my dinette bench and then remove the face or end of the bench to get more room underneath.



Attachment shows crown gear meshed with the rack and the slide moved to rotate the gear so the set screw (visible) can be tightened.

Good picture. It shows exactly what you need to see. Those set screws are a pain to get to, but it can be done.
