Antenna Position

I crank up the antenna when I want to watch TV and it works as intended. But the last time when I lowered it to drive home, I did my routine walkaround outside before leaving, and I noticed that the antenna had turned sideways and was sticking out over the edge of the roof. I managed to get it back into its original front-to-back position using a stepladder and a broom handle (my MH doesn't have a ladder). Now I am wondering why it turned in the first place. Is there a way to turn it sideways from the inside using the hand crank and I did it unknowingly, or is it coming loose and I have to get up on the roof to tighten it? (I hope not, I'm scared of heights).

The large outer ring on the hand crank also turns so you can rotate the antenna. There is a pointer on the ring that should line up with an indexing mark so you always know it's rotated back to the storage position. Pull down on the outer ring to turn it.

That was it! Thank you!!! I never noticed that part, shows how unobservant I am! Now I can play with it when I need better reception in the boonies.
