Your link shows this BIM, and I have this in my BCC box beside the steps.
Same creature?

Sorry for the sideways photo.

I’d suggest consulting the manual and schematic for your particular model/version of Battery Control Center.

The connecting of the chassis and house batteries is done by the BIM in the Battery Control Center, typically located in the coach entry stepwell. The signal from the emergency start switch on the driver seat base, referenced as the “dash switch” in the attached schematic, signals the BIM to interconnect the batteries momentarily.

On my 2020 Sunseeker, with standard driver seat, the emergency start switch is located on the left side of the seat base, much the same as the OP’s. An additional feature I think no one has mentioned, is that it appears it may be possible in some cases to use the emergency switch to start the on-board generator via help from the chassis battery/alternator, in the event the house battery(ies) are too weak.

That's the one... you found it for me, just could not remember what it was callled

The switch is used to override the automatic operation of the BIM
send a signal to BIM to connect the batteries
a second signal to BIM to disconnect them

https://forestriverinc.help/#/forest...ultiple-709236

From the manual

Operation:The Battery Isolation Manager opens and connects the two 5/16” copper terminals by means of a sliding contact. Each time BIM changes ON/OFF state, the contact instantly switches. The BIM remains in the ON or OFF State, without coil power
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

The switch controls the on/off state and the sliding contacts move to either connect or disconnect.

not 100% sure if the automatic 1 hour timer is activated when you combine.
more than likely is
Hate the wording of that manual BTW

This is not how the emergency (aux) start switch functions. The switch can supply 12Vdc or a ground to the BIM port to tie the chassis/coach batteries together but the switch is a SPST (momentary ON/OFF) switch and only supplies the 12Vdc or ground to the BIM while held actuated. When the switch is released to return to OFF the BIM disconnects the interconnect between the batteries. My head hurts I'm done.

My Sunseeker motorhome has the same BIM 160 as the OP supposedly has (per Forest River documents). I just went out and verified it’s operation. In actual use, I hold the SPST momentary contact switch in to connect the batteries, and I release the switch to disconnect the batteries. It goes clunk, then clunk. That’s the way it works. It’s that simple. There is no second button press or signal required.

If your Sunseeker or other motorhome with the exact same Precision Circuits BIM 160 works differently, please elaborate, otherwise let’s move on now.

Ken,
I had the PC 160 in my BCC and I did use it to start the genset when my OEM FLA’s house batts failed. However, you have a CD which may have a different BIM or even a BIRD. In either case, it should work identically.
