Any Reviews of One Control

I was checking out the new One Control Bluetooth control system that eliminates the old analog panel with lights. Wondering how folks are liking it? Will Lippert one day make an upgrade model for older units? FR designed my 2016 Forester 2701ds with the Convenience Center above the fridge and out of reach for the DW. Something like this would be great for us.

Any Reviews of One Control

So far so good on our 2017 Cardinal 3456RL. Came from factory with a defective wifi extender but since our dealer replaced it - it works perfectly from my iPhone. It is really convenient to turn lights off and on, bring in awnings, etc. without having to go stand in the hall. No complaints here. By the way, ours is wifi not Bluetooth.

Of the five items controlled by this system in my coach, so far I like it for awning, slide, generator and monitor. I'd rather have light switches instead of having to wake up the tablet, choose lighting, then choose the light I want to control. A switch is much simpler for me.
I'm sure wiring the coach at the factory is simpler since all control wiring is run to one area with modules rather than several switch locations throughout the coach.
Being able to control those 5 things from my phone is nice so overall I'm satisfied with it.

You are right, probably a nightmare to install it on a late model coach compared to doing it at the factory. I was thinking maybe it had wifi modules all over connected directly at each component and can easily be plugged in. Probably not the case.

My tank, lighting and generator modules are behind a panel by the stairwell on my 3051S. I haven't discovered where the awning and slide modules are, nor have I found the actual router, which I don't believe is your everyday off the shelf router from Best Buy.
I discovered that my bedroom tablet has power plus a control wire connected to it so it appears the tablets are hard wired, which is good, and the wi-fi is there only to provide phone connectivity.
It would be nearly impossible to add this type of system after the coach is finished.

I think it is as I went to RV Trader and looked at a few new 2017 models and saw it in the interior photos.

The Lippert MyRV system doesn't seem to be getting any rave reviews.

Researching further, I see Lippert has Linc® Switch System and My RV. All are for OEM only.

So far so good with ours!

I agree with Netgain in that I would also prefer a light switch in the bedroom, and maybe one just inside the door for outside lighting.

Works great on my Samsung, and is nice to turn on the lights in, and out of the RV if returning after dark. The convenience and safety of opening / closing the slides and awning while standing and watching from outside is also nice if close to obstructions.

Glad we bought when we did!

So glad that we bought our 2017 Forester 3051S when we did....This system sounds like a pain in the A**. To have to get into your phone every time you want to turn on a light or anything else would get old pretty fast. What the Hell was wrong with switches that have been used for decades. I realize that engineers have to justify their existence by redesigning things that work perfectly well every few years. At least if a switch goes bad you can figure out what is wrong and replace it. Try that when your computerized control system quits working !!

Very good point Jim. I mentioned it to the DW and she said forget it. No way does she want to go to the pad to turn on a light. It was just a thought worth looking into because of the Convenience Panel being up and out of reach and hard to read.
Next thing you know, it will team up with Echo and be voice controlled. "Echo, how full are my tanks?". Reply, " Good morning Dave, your fresh water tank has 21 gallons left, your black water tank has 18 gallons available capacity, your grey water tank has 15 gallons available capacity and your propane has 6 gallons remaining. Any other questions Dave?" I think I'm at my limit for gadgets anyway! Need to get out and camp

Yes. We have 2018 DS3011. One on each side of bedroom. We had to get an old iPad to mount by front door to run control without having to walk so far when we are outside. (I know we can use smart phones, but by the time you log in and wait for connection you could walk to wall control and do it yourself.). The pic above has more options. We only have monitor, generator, slides, awning and lights. AC can only be controlled by thermostat in bedroom. No Bluetooth for AC is frustrating. Leveling is Big Foot and located by front door. Power failure of internal batteries leaves us dead in the water. Haven't figured out how to close slides manually or retract levelers. It is a techy RV but I'd prefer switches. Monitor panel does not accurately monitor LP and tanks. Only shows in 20 increments. Looked like our LP was emptied so we went tank up and only needed 5 gallons. We were told to monitor meter on tank cause control panel is not accurate.

We have a 2801qs Forester & really like the control panel. Don't know what we're going to say if it malfunctions.

I suspect it's a question of "when," not "if."

Phone app will show holding tank % by number.

From my porch I can check those levels, and batteries with the phone app. (RV is in RV port / garage about 100 feet from house). Tanks are empty and read 0%, gas is reading 77% full, and battery is showing 12.5.

The 3011DS has push button lighting inside above entrance door, above recliners, above bed, above sink and kitchen counter, and in the bathroom.

I am in NO WAY a tech guy.....but I'm liking this so far !

I have a 2017 3011DS and I'm currently not a fan of the system. Both panels have failed and we're using phones now since we don't want to be out of commission for the summer. Android phone app is cumbersome since it takes me almost 10 seconds to unlock the phone, open the app, enter the PIN (required EVERY time), allow a few seconds to connect, choose Lighting, and then hit the light fixture you'd like to turn on.

In addition, once your phone is attached to the system's WiFi, you no longer have Internet access. You have to disconnect from the RV's OneControl WiFi and connect to either the campground's WiFi or use your mobile data.

As mentioned earlier, there are a lot of undercabinet fixtures with push buttons. The lights controlled by the system are the ceiling, awning, and scare lights.

I guess what's bugging me is that it's not a comprehensive system as shown in the Lippert brochure. My RV uses it for lights, slides, generator, and monitor panel. The leveling system, Fantastic Fans, entertainment, and HVAC are separate systems.

I was a smidge concerned when we ordered our Forester, but I figured the system had been on the market for a few years so it was not entirely experimental. However, it just seems half baked and not well executed.

Since I'm going to be a long term user, I am really hoping for updates from Lippert to make the system better.

I like the system as the most frequently used controls are in one place. No complaints so far. The newer software they have released runs much faster that the original software release.

Netgain,
To answer your question regarding the slide and awning. They are controlled from the 5 output multifunction receiver. Which is one of the 4 modules you have behind the stairwell panel. The router (which appears to be a off the shelf unit based on it's firmware) and the LCI interface module is located behind the Jensen coach radio.
The connections that you see at the tablets are 12 volt power and the other 2 are CAN bus. Most likely on the bedroom tablet you will have 1 CAN bus cable and a terminating resistor in the other connector. This is standard for all CAN bus systems. You will also have CAN bus connections to all of the other modules as well as 12 volts and the loads going to the controlled devices.
As you speculated the internal modules/tablets are hard wired to each other via the CAN bus. The WIFI is only to provide customer supplied devices access to the system.
If you need more detailed info PM me.

Modem location on Forester GTS 2431S?

This looks like the right place to maybe get my question answered. I asked on the tech forum, but it has been 3 days and not one answer. This is what I asked:

"I picked up my new Forester on Tuesday and here it is 2 days later and I cannot get my iPhone to sync with My RV control panel. I can see the RV modem in my WiFi settings on the phone but it will not connect. Called Lippert tech support today and he though the modem needed to be reset. So, where does one find this modem? I don't want to randomly unplug stuff in the RV. I have looked all over but cannot find it, or at least it is not obvious to me."

Anyone???? Having a problem with no power to the Big Foot level system too, but I guess that will be a different thread LOL.
