Any tricks to remove water filter canister

I need to remove the water filter canister. I have the white plastic wrench. Do I just slide it around the canister at the bottom & then up to the top & then turn to the left? Haven't had to do it before. Am assuming it's easy. Just thought I'd find out if there are any tricks needed. Thanks!

Make sure there is no water presure on it. Open a faucet to take the presure off it. Make sure your pump and city water is off. Good luck

First of all make sure you release the pressure by opening a tap and shutting the pump off/ outside tap off . Put a towel under the filter because some water will spill as you move the filter around. Yup put the wrench on the filter. You might have to move a water line slightly to get the wrench on. You'll see how much pressure you need once you try to loosen it off. Make sure you test after you put it back on. Off the top of my head and sitting here after an 8 hour, 500 mile trip, I hope this makes sense.

If it's tough to move give the wrench a gentle, then firmer 'tap, tap, tap' with the palm of your hand. Btw, yes it's a left hand turn. It will loosen up. Good luck.

Lefty loosey, righty tighty doesn't apply if you are operating the wrench from the opposite side.......it works only if you are facing the threads. If you are looking down on the filter canister from the top, you need to turn to the right.

If you are looking from the bottom up, the yes, turn to the left.

Confusing, ain't it.

Only if you are looking down on the canister.

Not exactly where his canister is, but it could get confusing depending on which way he attacks that puppy.

If filter is up and down and if your looking at the side of it .....lefty loosey righty tighty.

Unless your laying on your back looking at the side.....

I found if you open the low point drains and do not have the city water hooked up, turn on your water pump (providing fresh water tank is empty) and it will drain the clear canister. Then you can remove without worry of spilling everywhere because of the tight quarters you have to work in. Do not lose the thin black o-ring gasket.

That's a good point. Drain the thing with the on-board pump. You learn something new every day. . Now Turbs, if you're on your back looking at the cannister from the side, do you use a straw for your cocktail?

Turn water off, open faucets then i place a short bucket under the filter cannester then use the plastic wrench once the cannester is loose then lower it into the bucket this helps eliminates a spill on the floor it will go in the bucket then remove the bucket with the cannester in it.....once you re-install the cannester ONLY HAND TIGHTEN, DO NOT USE THE PLASTIC WRENCH.....
