Anyone know of a good independent service department in Virginia?
We bought our 2017 Forester in March from an independent dealer in Manassas, VA. We had a terrible experience with Camping World with our previous RV and really wanted a dealer we thought we could count on for service. Well guess what? They sold to Camping World! We need warrenty work done and I am having a hard time finding a dealer (other than CW). I have been in contact with FR via email and voicemail but have not gotten a response as to where I could take it. Anyone on here have any suggestions? We are willing to drive to find a good service department. Thanks!

Is it something a mobile tech could do.
They are often quicker and better.

Possibly, it's a lot of small things and the levelers stopped working all together. But I don't think we have anyone in our area who does that.

FR will reply usually in two days. A good dealer service department may be hard to find. They are never quick and always overbooked. Where are you located? There is a dealer in Chesapeake I trust but they are not fast.

We are in Staunton but we are willing to drive somewhere and leave it if they are recommended and you think they will not screw people, like CW does!

American family RV in Chesapeake, VA. They have worked on my rv. Like I said they are not fast. Expect 2 weeks minimum from your appointment drop off date. You are about 2 1/2 hours away.

I went through a similar experience where the small dealer I bought from was bought by a larger company not long after I bought the unit. The service was terrible so I engaged FR for a better option. As I and many others have found out, it is difficult if not impossible to get warranty work completed except from the dealer you purchased from. However, FR does have a contract with Camping World to do warranty work so that is what I ended up doing. The CW service was definitely a step up or two from the dealer I bought from but still not up to what I would I would call an acceptable level of service.

We use Dodd RV in Yorktown and have been for years. They are good.

I just heard back from Lisa at RV World in Ashland. I guess they have all been bought by CW but they are small and working as independent. She sounded very nice on the phone and said they could do the warrenty work, no problem. Has anyone dealt with them? They are about 1.5 hours from here. I am going to send the list of things I need to have done in advance so hopefully they will have the parts needed and I am going to leave it with them to hopefully get it all done.

I have been very happy with the service that I received at Keystone in Greencastle PA. It is only around 45 minutes north of Winchester VA if you are close to this area.

Grandview RV does all my work on my 2011 Forester. Great people, indy, and usually can get to it pretty quick. Brian is there repair guy and he is good.

There is a great shop in Culpeper. I have heard nothing but good things about them. I do know they are busy all of the time and you may have a little wait in order to schedule an appointment.

You could try Haden Rv in Richmond VA. Absolutely do not go to Mcgeorge in Ashland. They are also owned by CW now and want to get in your pocket. Haden is a certified FR Service center. That's where we are going to try the next time we have an issue.

Try Hayden RV in Richmond. We purchased our TT from them and they did our service before we moved to Chesapeake. We have dealt with several dealers in VA and Hayden has been by far the best. Straight down 64 E from Staunton.
