Awning over the Slide

The awning over our slide is rumpled and slanted, we are nowhere near a dealer or authorized repair shop. Will it still be under warantee if we wait until we get to a place with the authorized dealer?

Read the manual that came with the awning, it will describe the term of the warranty. As long as you get to an authorized dealer within the warranty period stated, you will be covered.

Does not sound like you have any choice?

Are there mobile repair units available in your area? But, if you call one of these out you may end up picking up the full bill?

Not enough info to say. How long until you get back and when is your warranty up?

If you get back after your warranty is up, it depends on if the dealer/FR is feeling generous that day

If it was me, I would call a mobile tech, have him get warranty pre-authorization, and have them fix it where you are. Any RV park or Google can help you find a good local mobile service.

Call Forest River Warranty..get in touch with Mike Jankowski and tell him your problem. Since you are still within the warranty period, he will make a note attached to your vin# documenting that the problem occurred while still under warranty. That way, when you can get it repaired it will be covered.
We had a couple of warranty issues that originally came up just a few days before the expiration of our warranty and it was a couple of months before we could get it taken care of and...they still covered it.

What Cavie said only post them as well. It could be something simple that even an engineer can fix.

And it could be something so simple, anyone can fix.

Often times the awning material slips off to one side in the roller tube.
It then winds up crooked and creates exactly what the OP is complaining of.
There are many posts on how to correct and then prevent this from happening in the future.

J O'Neil's response would be my advice. In addition to taking date stamped pictures. I always document the time and day I talk to FR with a brief summary of the conversation, who I spoke with, and their response. It has been used to trigger their memory of our prior conversation.

Engineers can fix anything, as long as their wives don't interfere with "helpful suggestions".

AND if the bean counters don't get in the way.

Oops bean counter here, that must be the problem. We did attempt to fix it, but there is no manual on the awnings..... guess it will have to wait until we can get to a dealer.... my OCD will go nuts!

No offense intended but it seems to me that OCD is a prerequisite for being a bean counter... at least for me, lol.

We finally got everything on this end ironed out on our rig (until the next thing). Hope yours is a simple fix for someone knowledgeable about such things.

I think Will Rogers said "Everybody is ignorant, only on different subjects".
