Unhappy awning retraction?

I see there is a similar thread, so I don't need to be reminded of that. My problem is similar, as the front awning arm does not seem to retract tight to the side of the coach. Our unit is a 2021 Sunseeker Classic, which we bought used last September. It had on 3800 miles on it! Since owning, I have only extended the awning twice. The first time I did not notice the problem, but then again, we were only fifteen miles from home on a shake down trip!
Two weeks ago we traveled 700miles to our granddaughters wedding, in Northern Alabama. I had the awning extended for two days and again retracted it for travel. On the trip, there was a loud rattle on the door side of the camper. Initially I thought it was the screen door, or the plastic sliding cover in the door making the racket. After stopping for the night, I did some investigation and found the front arm of the awning not tight to the camper. Trying the switch, it did not move any tighter. I am wondering if the former owner/s may have damaged the awning, as I can verify I have not hit anything with it.
What if anything can I check to affect a repair without taking it to a dealership and waiting six months for an appointment?

Two things to look at. First make sure awning support mechanisms are not bent or in a bind. Second check to make sure the awning fabric is rolling-up square on the roller. Bent or binding supports will cause the fabric to roll-up crooked and compound the situation.
